THE FEBRUARY ISSUE

“Luxury is when it seems flawless, when you reach the right balance between all elements. Understated theatricality – that is what my luxury is all about.” J-L.D.

PROJECTS CATCHING OUR EYES: THE DINING BOUTIQUE by C'est ici Design

Impossibly local, seasonal, and authentic- that’s the mantra of Dining Boutique. A novel take on regional dining. Located in the social cluster of Dubai Commercity, C’est ici Design uses a warm mix of tropical wood tones, cementitious flooring, lush green foliage, earthy terracotta accessories inspired by Mexican adobe-style architecture and natural greenery.

Embarking on a journey of curvy exotic comfort, recently added to our portfolio. A cocktail of vibrant and monochrome color palette, natural-like elements and organic shapes implemented to define and articulate the space with an elegant tropical vibe, a mix of exotic and extravagant pieces reflected all over the canvas from ceiling, walls, to bespoke furniture and floor

Additional green hues feature in a series of pendant lighting as well as a feature kitchen counter cladded in scalloped green paneling. Leafy potted plants add to the subtle tropical decor. The focus to putting in a perfectly orchestrated hospitality venue was to bring the outside in- sun, freshness and nature.

C'EST ICI DESIGN LOVES From architecture to colour trends, our favourite picks of the month

TIMES BLOSSOM SALES CENTER

This project is located in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China, in a region with a vibrant economy, excellent transportation and fast links to various industrial centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. By using the irregular horizontal texture presented by rammed earth paint, the facade has a unique and poetic material texture, awakening people's complex relationship to the land. People enter the space as if leaving far behind the noisy city, and immediately experience a rare sense of tranquility in this bustling urban conurbation.

THE ENDLESS JOY OF COLOUR: PINK TERRACOTTA

Terracotta is one of the oldest manufactured materials. It is basically fired clay. Hence its Italian name “terra cotta”. This color evokes nature. It is a warm color, associated with the earth, the rustic, the natural and the living, which connects with our origins. Terracotta fuses the neutral character of brown tones with the vigor, passion and energy of red tones, which results in a color with great strength, but which retains its balance.

TRENDING NOW: The power pieces that we use every day

When it comes to preserving consistency among our designs, there are some key ‘go to’ design pieces that we can confidently rely to maintain the synergies. Recently procured in our completed projects, the iconic Spanish Chair is Børge Mogensen’s masterful contribution to modern design, designed for Fredericia in 1958. Solid oak or walnut combined with the highest calibre saddle leather creates a strong presence in a chair that will only become more beautiful with age.
